Our Pioneers and Visionaries

"Every masjid begins with a few believers who carry a vision in their hearts."

The Islamic Center of Santa Clarita Valley was built through the dedication, vision, and sacrifice of our founders. Their commitment helped establish a place of worship, education, and community that continues to grow today.

The Islamic Center of Santa Clarita Valley, established in 1989, is the oldest and first masjid founded in the Santa Clarita Valley. Formed at a time when the local Muslim population was small and scattered, the Center began as a grassroots effort by pioneering families seeking a dedicated place for congregational prayer, religious education, and community life.

Over the past three decades, the Islamic Center has grown alongside the Santa Clarita Valley itself serving as a spiritual home for generations, hosting daily and Jumu'ah prayers, youth and educational programs, interfaith initiatives, and major religious observances. As the founding Islamic institution in the SCV, the Center reflects the early history and continued development of the Muslim presence in the region.
